Alcaraz shaves his head: "He looks like Beckham." But the new look isn't everyone's cup of tea.

The Spanish tennis player is ready to make his debut at the US Open
New Slam, new look for Carlos Alcaraz . Just hours before his debut at the 2025 US Open , where he will face American Reilly Opelka in the first round, the Spanish tennis player showed up on the American tournament's hard courts with a new haircut. Alcaraz chose to shave his head , with a look that, to many, reminded him of the one sported by David Beckham in 2000.

Alcaraz's new haircut went viral on social media, sparking reactions from fans and enthusiasts. "Welcome back, David Beckham of the 2000s," wrote one user, while another saw him as Pepe , the former Portuguese defender for Real Madrid. The X community was divided between those who appreciated Alcaraz's courage and those who preferred, to put it mildly, his 'usual' dark hair. So much so that someone wrote: "Carlos should learn from Sinner and wear a hat on the pitch."

Even the other players on the circuit were surprised. American Frances Tiafoe was caught by the US Open cameras staring, stunned, at Alcaraz's head, while Carlos burst into laughter.
